Typo

Some versions of the CD-ROM included with Pet Grooming Business Plan Helper & Sampler include an Excel file with a typo. The Detailed Start-up Purchases Worksheet has a misspell of the word "blades" as "baldes." Correction. Remove spreadsheet protection (password available by sending email to findagroomer@earthlink.net) and correct the typo.

Office 2007 Compatiblity

Office 2007 is only beginning to catch on with millions of users, and we are finding many users going with the free OpenOffice.org.

You can use Office 1997-2000 to 2007 without problems. However, if you are using Office 2007 remember that the files we are providing are in Office 1997-2003 format. Office 2007 will read them and allow you to work with them, however, when you SAVE your files on your system with Office 2007 you can choose to save them in the 1997-2003 or 2007 format. We suggest you use the 1997-2003 for all of them, OR, consistently save all of them in the 2007 format. Simply be consistent.

Of course, make back-ups of your files regularly and save a set in a safe place.

Spreadsheet Protection

We understand that many of users of our products have modest experience working with Excel and Word while others are quite skilled. To prevent those unfamiliar with Excel files from changing formulas we used protection on all of the spreadsheets. In fact, no one has to create a single formula, it's simply data entry.

Advanced users will want to unlock protection to change the names of fields on occasion. Send an email to findagroomer@earthlink.net with your name, product name and request the password to remove sheet protection. We usually reply the same day.

MAC Compatibility for CD-ROM Files

We have had many sales of this title to MAC owners in an effort to determine MAC compatibility. There has been only 1 problem brought to our attention. The user wanted to remove Excel spreadsheet protection and there was a problem doing so even after securing the protection removal password from our office. Yet another MAC user was able to do so. So it is an isolated problem. You should be using MAC compatible versions of MS Word and Excel. If you have MAC compatible MS Word and Excel you should have no problems based on a year of experience.
